Vinay Nagpal
President
Vinay is a Senior Development Manager at the IBM Software Laboratory Canada. Vinay has held a number of leadership positions, and most recently was the president of the IBM South Asian Diversity Group. He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BSc and MSc in Computer Science. Vinay is an avid sportsman, and has founded two fund raising teams for a variety of charities. Most notably, Vinay has cycled from Toronto to St. John's NF for Cancer Research.

Kundan Joshi
Vice President
and Corporate
Secretary
Kundan Joshi is the Founder and Managing Director of Joshi Inc. and Virtuoso Designs. His companies provide IT, Creative, Business Consulting & Solutions such as Brand Strategy, Web Design & Development, Graphic Design, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing & Offshoring. He has worked with clients such as Holiday Inn, Bell Canada, Ontario Ministry of Education, Rogers, Telus, National Post, among others.

Kundan has been a part of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce & its Young Professionals' committee for over 6 years.   He was a part of the YP committee that received the 'ICCC Member of the Year' award from Hon. Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2007 . Kundan has completed a B.Eng. Degree in Software Engineering from the University of Western Ontario.

Harjit Kalsi
Vice President,
Director, Programs & Events
Harjit Kalsi is the Chief Financial Officer of the Skylink Group of Companies. His position consists mainly of executive duties directly related to financial management policies and general business operations of the Skylink Group. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, he is actively involved in strategic planning for the Group, business planning for projects, planning and implementing financial systems, feasibility studies and contract negotiations with other parties for major projects.

Harjit S. Kalsi obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Delhi in 1974. He completed further courses at Canadian institutions obtaining Diploma in Hospitality Management and Food Services, a Certificate in Business Administration and his designation as Certified General Accountant.

Jim Sahdra
Vice President,
Director, Legal Affairs, Advocacy
& Government Relations
Jim Sahdra is an experienced corporate/commercial and securities lawyer who has advised businesses of all sizes, ranging from start-ups to multi-national corporations. He has extensive knowledge of Ontario corporate and securities legislation and functions in a close advisory role to business owners and senior management. Jim obtained his law degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1999. He also holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Arts degree (economics) from the University of Toronto. Jim is a long time member of the ICCC and served as a member of the ICCC's SME Committee for several years.

Satish Thakkar

Finance and Administration
Satish Thakkar is a CA from India and a CGA from Ontario with a solid background in providing end to end finance solutions and full service business & transaction advisory consultation. He has an extensive experience in both corporate and personal financial planning. As the president of Excelsior Financial Group, Satish has been able to cultivate strong relationships with key players and partners in the financial markets, offering both debt and equity solutions. Coupled with the ability to source and structure transactions with a product mix that includes Revolving and Term debt with both Balance Sheet and Cash Flow lending models.

Imtiaz Seyid

Imtiaz Seyid is Vice President, South Asian and Middle Eastern Markets with RBC Royal Bank, Toronto, Ontario.

His career with RBC began in 1989 and in his current role Imtiaz is responsible for strategy development, segment management and Business development. His leadership role has contributed to RBC’s high profile within the Indian community in particular and multicultural communities in general.

He joined the ICCC as a member in 1993 and has been a very active member of ICCC and has participated in a number of trade missions and PBD delegations.
He has been a pioneer in generating Corporate Canada support for the ICCC and several other organizations and initiatives.

Pankaj Mehra
Director,
Trade & SME
Pankaj Mehra is currently the Director, India & South Asia Markets at The Bank of Nova Scotia. After obtaining his Mechanical Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering, Pankaj commenced his banking career with Standard Chartered Bank in India. He subsequently worked in England and the Middle East prior to arriving in Canada in 1996 and joining Scotiabank in 1997. He is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), an active volunteer for several organizations and a Director on the Board of the Oakville Distress Centre. Married, with two children, Pankaj enjoys golf and the very wide range of Indian music

Yatendra Shah
Director, Funding
& Sponsorship
Yatendra Shah is Director of Funding and Sponsorship and a Life member of ICCC. He has a Master’s degree from  University of Calcutta and is the Owner of Jai Plastic Industries. He immigrated to Canada in 2001 and was Controller of Louis Vuitton up to 2009.

His contribution to community by helping in settlement of new immigrants has been awarded a number of times. Giving back to community, he also serves as Vice President of Rajasthan Association of North America – Canada since 2007 and as Board Member and Treasurer of Panorama India, since 2008. He was also a member of the Board of Skills for Change, Toronto from 2002 to 2008 and Spokesperson for United Way of Greater Toronto for 2007 and 2008. He has served as President of Plastic Manufacturers’ Association and Vice President of Vishwakarma Industrialists’ Association, in India.

Asha Luthra
Immediate Past President, Director, Advocacy & Government Relations
Asha Luthra is the first woman president of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce. She has been actively associated with the Chamber’s activities for more than a decade. She was elected the 31st President of the Chamber in 2008.

During her ongoing tenure as the President of ICCC, all the Chamber’s events have scaled greater heights and have turned out to be huge successes. Asha is focused in giving the Chamber a new direction on trade and membership matters. Her aim is to create a stronger bonding in the India-Canada trade corridor.

Asha is the Head of AL Consulting. She has been in the travel and hospitality business for more than two decades and has successfully promoted travel and trade between both Canada and India. Along with sharp business acumen, she also has a strong sense of business ethics.

Before she moved to Canada, Asha lived in Mumbai, India. She was with Air India Bombay for 14years. Community service is a guiding principle in Asha’s life. She always comes forward to contribute her time and commitment in the community not only in Canada but also in India.

She has been a strong advocate for issues concerning women and was a faculty for the Indian Junior Chamber for a number of years. She was the first woman state President for Maharashtra of the widely know organization called Jaycees. She has been a member of various voluntary organizations.

Shilpa Joshi
Director of Young Professionals
Shilpa is an Associate in the Public Sector Group at CIBC Commercial Banking. She maintains a portfolio of public sector clients, and has led debt financing transactions for Ontario hospitals and energy sector entities. She began her professional career with her role as an Analyst at Nortel, within their Treasury and Risk Management divisions, and has held positions at CIBC Wholesale Banking supporting the Interest Rate Derivates trading desk.

Shilpa is actively involved in her community, and volunteers in a number of organizations including CIBC Run for the Cure, United Way, Plan Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation, and Women in Capital Markets.

Shilpa graduated with a BBA academic Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University with a concentration in Finance and Economics. Shilpa has been involved with ICCC for over 3 years, serving as an executive member of ICCC’s Young Professional Committee.

Jai Maru
Director, Information Technology
Jai Maru is an experienced advanced collaboration and WEB2.0 strategist, and advocate, with IBM Canada who has consulted with numerous private and public sector organizations on social computing strategy with business adoption of collaboration technologies. He brings over 13 years of experience in the information technology industry and is an active member of the social media communities online contributing knowledge to various groups of interest.

In addition, he has been highly active in the diversity inclusion initiatives at IBM while having been a founding member of a philanthropic team of people that physically challenged themselves in the spirit of supporting various charities across the greater Toronto area.

Jai is also a founding and managing partner of TailorGuys. His educational background is in Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, and Geophysics, from York University in Toronto and has been active with the Chamber since 2007 where he has served as the co-chair of the information technology committee.
